    Celebrate True Freedom!

     

    "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."  (Gal. 5:13)

     

    As we prepare to celebrate the Independence of our Nation, as a Sovereign Nation under God, may it be a solemn time to reflect upon the necessity of our dependence upon our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ! Let’s remember the solemn words of The Preamble of our Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

     

    Let us hold fast to the powerful words of The Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Our independence is not to separate us from God but to separate us unto God. Our freedom is in governing ourselves through God’s guidance and not having man or government being a dictator over us.

     

    Let’s recall the profound oath or promise of The Pledge of Allegiance: “I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

     

    We cannot erase our past nor should we. We should learn from it. It is a stark reminder of the sins of our Nation and a previous generation. We should learn from it and not repeat it. Our past should encourage us to do better and by the Grace of God we can. Apart from His Grace and Sovereignty we will repeat our sins in new forms with detrimental consequences.

     

    The purpose in highlighting some of the words of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance is that they move us in a direction or Vision that benefits all. They do not exclude God, they INCLUDE GOD in all His Sovereignty and Majestic Rule. Compare this to what we see happening today. Can you find the missing ingredient? Enjoy the Liberty/Freedom God gives you.

    "Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of Me; and that cover with a covering, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin:"  (Isa. 30:1)
