    Fast and Pray

    July 17, 2016

“O Lord,” I prayed, “You are a great and awesome God…” Dan 9:4 TLB

In the midst of chaos, confusion, and disorder (lawlessness), it is good and wise to remember we serve a Great and Awesome God! As we witness terrorist attacks in various places, coups, and civil disobedience, it is reasonable to say, “What’s happening?” Seeing how divided we are as a nation, it’s even more alarming to hear the President say, “we’re not as divided as some have suggested.” It makes you wonder, “Who’s speaking truth?” The more terrorist attacks there are, the more they tell us, “ISIL is on the run or we’re winning the war against them.”

This election of 2016 is probably one of the most divisive and polarizing we’ve experienced in our day. Everything is on “HIGH ALERT”. To put your head in the sand and pretend it’s not so is to deny the obvious. As a child of God you have a duty to RISE UP in your position and calling to meet the challenges we face. The Gospel must still go forth in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts (Zech 4:6).”

In Daniel’s day, when he knew the time was near for God’s deliverance of His people from Babylon, he fasted and prayed. Our nation thinks that it wants many things such as security, peace, prosperity, Hillary or Trump, borders or no borders, marriage equality (go figure), God or no god, gender fluidity/neutrality/equality, Ad infinitum. Leading politicians think Government should be either all republicans or all democrats at the federal and state levels. These are all signs of birth pangs. Our nation needs deliverance. Revival is here; fast and pray that it spreads.

“…in Me ye might have peace (quietness, rest, prosperity). In the world ye shall have tribulation (pressure, trouble, affliction): but be of good cheer (to have courage, boldness); I have overcome (to subdue, conquer, prevail) the world.” Jn 16:33 KJV
