    Our Nation will once again celebrate another year marking our independence from Great Britain and the tyranny which it exerted over us this coming Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Our independence was not granted as a result of the kindness and generosity of British rule but was demanded and fought for by the founding fathers and the bravery of an outclassed but determined military of our own who understood the risks, but believed the cause and victory were the only means by which they could be relieved of their oppressors through the help of Divine Providence – God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

     

    Our nation has its own scars of being an oppressor of people (as do many other nations) who deserved by right of existence to be free. The effects of slavery still impact our society today and have evolved into other forms such as human trafficking: forced child and adult sex; forced labor, domestic servitude, bonded labor or debt bondage; child-soldiers, and others. Drug addiction, alcoholism, sexual perversion, etc., are other forms of slavery that imprison people and deny them of the freedom and liberty granted to them by God.

     

    Yet our most prestigious documents still read the same: Preamble to the Constitution -We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of ...” Declaration of Independence -We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

     

    True freedom comes from God. The system of slavery originated from satan and has its roots in sin. Here are the Words of Jesus – "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free…If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (Jn. 8:31-32, 36).” Freedom is the gift that God has given to every individual to live life in perfect harmony with Him and bring glory and honor to His Name.
