"And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." (Gen. 3:20)
On behalf of the men, sons, and daughters of Threshing Floor Tabernacle, we want to wish all of the moms and future moms a very Happy and Glorious Mother’s Day that you deserve. It’s your Day, and as we celebrate Motherhood we treasure the special attributes and true values in your life as defined by the Word of Life, the Holy Writ.
The celebration of Mothers is an honor well-deserved and is a great opportunity for sons and daughters to show their love and appreciation for all their mothers have done for them. The sacrifice of the gestational period, intense labor during birth, and a lifetime of love, nurture, concern, discipline, disappointments, pleasure, and achievements make this a special day to celebrate you.
One of the greatest honors God has given women is the ability to give birth. It is the beginning of family and the continuation of civilization. Were it not for sin, the painful experience of child birth would not exist. But the joy of the new life that proceeds makes even the pain worthwhile. You’re giving someone else the opportunity to live.
While many chart their own course in life, some good some bad, godly mothers have the opportunity to shape a godly generation that have a lasting impact on society for generations to come. We believe life begins at conception and as a result prayer, scripture reading, and songs can be spoken over the children while in the womb. Their lives can be impacted by the Presence and Glory of God before they are born.
What started out as a godly unit, the family, has become so secularized that the awareness of, necessity of, and Presence of God has been replaced by activities, video games, social media, and other distractions that have led to the ills society faces today. Mental illness has become a major epidemic. Gender fluidity, suicide, drug abuse, and mass shootings are common events of our time.
There’s only One answer and One Hope, and His Name is Jesus. Mothers teach your children about Jesus. Teach them about their need for Him. Teach them about the importance of daily fellowship with Him so they don’t become victims of the devil’s traps and pitfalls in life. Teach them about decency and respect for God and others.
"Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation." (Jer. 9:20)
"I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully." (1Tim. 5:14)
"That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." (Tit. 2:4-5)
