    Living Leaven Free

    April 24, 2016

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us…” I Cor 5:7

Unless we let go of the old, we can never fully experience the new. We may taste or experience some measure of the new life in Christ but not to the extent that God has in mind. There’s always more to God as it relates to our experience and encounter with Him. There is the progression of going from glory to glory, faith to faith, and strength to strength.

If we stop at the first stages of glory, faith, or strength we will miss out on the deeper levels that each can take us to. Don’t settle for Jesus only as Savior but let Him be Lord. Don’t miss out on the abundant life He has purposed for you. The progression is not only acknowledging Him as Savior but also as Lord, which means Master – supreme in authority. Jesus is more than just an insurance policy for eternal life. He’s the initiator, guarantor, and payer. Enjoy His benefits, He’s our Passover Lamb.

Living leaven free is not an impossible task because we have help. That help is none other than the Holy Ghost. The purpose of getting leaven out is to enable us to live leaven free. As you can see, we can go on continuously talking about and subjecting ourselves to issues and problems that plague us spiritually, emotionally, as well as physically. It is an endless cycle of defeat that makes our lives miserable. No paycheck, clothing, house, car or other desire will deliver us from these plagues. We simply contaminate everything we have by our refusal to live leaven free.

Leaven is defined as “a substance (such as yeast) that makes dough rise and become light before it is baked” according to Webster’s dictionary. When you think about that consider what is causing things to “rise and become light” personally in your life? The Helper, the Holy Ghost, is here to help you remove, destroy, and give you complete victory over it – no matter what it is. But you have to want, desire, and even crave to be free. Never let up.

Jesus said, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him (Jn 4:23).” Worship God from the heart in sincerity and in truth. The Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost, will help you in the removal of the old leaven. Your hour has come, and now is. It’s time to live leaven free.

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” I Cor 5:8
