    Past Finding Out

    December 20, 2015

Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.” II Cor 9:15

Unspeakable Gift means it is not expounded in full or indescribable. Something that is not explained in full is incomplete, not completely understood, or incapable of being fully described. When we think about the love, grace, mercy, wisdom, and knowledge of God, all attempts to define them only scratch the surface of their complete meaning because, it’s past finding out. It’s too deep to be fully explained.

“Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.” Job 9:10

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Rom 11:33

The depth of God is intriguing even to the point that you may not be able to explain fully everything that He reveals. Faith is the Master Key to knowing, understanding, and relating to everything concerning the Father. What we don’t know or understand, Faith will fill in the gap. As we continue to pursue Jesus we receive more of the infinite wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that there is to the Godhead. Proverbs 2:4 says we are to seek for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as silver and hidden treasures. That puts value on your pursuit. If you know where the treasure is then go for it!

The greatest gift the Father could give us was/is Jesus. This is what celebrating Christmas is all about – being grateful for the birth of our Savior who is “Christ the Lord.” To celebrate Christmas is to celebrate Jesus. He came to reveal the Father to those who knew Him not, but were willing to listen and learn. Those who thought they knew the Father already, wanted to kill Jesus (see John 8). Their limited knowledge and understanding of the Father based on the Law of Moses and being the seed of Abraham prevented them from having a deeper revelation and relationship with Him through Jesus. Jesus came to reveal the Father. Moses appeared with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration and Jesus said Abraham rejoiced to see His day (see MT 17:1-9; John 8:56-58). They both pointed towards Jesus. The Old Testament pointed towards Jesus.

Religion will keep you restricted and bound but Jesus will set you free. May the “eyes” of our “understanding” to be “enlightened” to know the hope of His calling and point people to Jesus. We’re a royal (kingly) priesthood, a holy nation – a “Holy habitation of God in the spirit.” We’re the house/place/earthly address where He dwells. What are you doing with God’s house? Who’s furnishing it, cleaning it, decorating it, and occupying it?  May your house, which is God’s house, be thoroughly furnished, cleansed, decorated and occupied by Jesus – the Light of the World.

    Merry Christmas
