    Power Up!

    October 15, 2017

“…The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Jn 6:63

The Word is for your spirit! Your born again spirit was never meant to be weak! You are to be STRONG in Faith. The Word testifies that both John the Baptist and Jesus “waxed strong in spirit” (see Lk 1:80; 2:40), which means they were empowered and vigorous in spirit. Their example is for us today. To be as they were we must have what they had and do what they did. Jesus said, “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” It is the Spirit or Holy Spirit that quickens us in our spirit. He makes us alive to God! That third part of man that was dead in trespasses and sin has been made alive and he’s hungry! He’s hungry for the Word and thirsty for the Spirit.

If you don’t feed your spirit you will be weak and ineffective in the Kingdom. Anything and everything can easily offset you and have you make perilous decisions with grave consequences. It may cause you to go after something God never had any intention for you to have. For example, the children of Israel in their idolatry and rebellion against God would offer their sons and daughters to Molech in the fire! God said He never commanded that nor had it ever entered His mind for His people to do it (see Jer 32:35). You may not go to that extreme but have you paid any attention to what people are doing to their own kids today?

The biblical word for weak or weaknesses is infirmity. The Word of God says, “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves (Rom 15:1).” This is in relations to foods and the strong are encouraged not to cause a weak brother or sister to stumble because of their food choice. Whatever you do apart from faith is sin. But the Word also says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (Rom 8:26); My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Cor 12:9); let the weak say, I amstrong (Joel 3:10)!”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is still to this day, THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION. It is the message above all other messages. It is the Word of LIFE. It is the Word that CLEANSES. It is the Word of TRUTH. It is the Word and the Spirit that EMPOWERS!!!  POWER UP!!!
