    Seeing is Believing?

    April 10, 2016

“And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.” Mt 28:17

If seeing is believing then some of the disciples missed it badly. In the weeks following the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, while we don’t have detailed accounts of everything that happened, we have enough – amid controversy, doubt, and sightings – to verify Jesus had truly risen from the dead as He said He would.

The doubt mentioned in the scripture reference above was amongst the eleven disciples/apostles.  Doubt is a constant battle of the mind that must be conquered and overcome. To doubt is to withdraw from or oppose; to separate, discriminate, hesitate. Jesus said to Peter, “…O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Mt 14:31)? Little faith makes room for doubt. Great faith gives no place to doubt – “…O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt (Mt 15:28).” TheWord of God says Stephen was a man full of faith and power. He was full of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 6:5, 8. Barnabas also is mentioned as being full of the Holy Ghost and faith (see Acts 11:24).

We believe, pray and expect revival, miracles, and great manifestations of the Spirit to happen today. May the seed of doubt and unbelief be expunged from our hearts and minds. May the gift of FAITH be ever present and operating in our midst. May the GLORY of the LORD fall afresh on us this day, as we gather in His Holy Name. May the power of Heaven manifest now!

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water (Heb 10:22).”
