    Stretch Forth In Faith!

    April 17, 2018

"Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes…"  (Isa. 54:2)

We stretch our money, our bodies, our food, and other things so it may last for a period or extended period of time or to reach some goal. Through education, we stretch our minds, so to speak, in order to better ourselves. As individuals, we stretch to reach something that is beyond our normal area of reach. In exercise, we are told to stretch because it’s good for our muscles and body. Stretching is a normal thing in life.

Stretching is defined as being made or capable of being made longer or wider without tearing or breaking; extend or spread over an area or period of time. It’s something we regularly do in life. In Isaiah chapter fifty-four, God challenges His people to “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them STRETCH FORTH the curtains . . . .” This meant to expand, make bigger, make room, make large, make wide, because “Something Good Was About To Happen”! As the New Living Translation (NLT) version states it, “Spare no expense”. This thing is going to be huge!

Pastor Rod Parsley often quotes, “When a Word from God is given, reason is never require— Faith and Faith alone must answer the door.” When God gives a directive, He doesn’t have to give an explanation – He’s the Authority over our lives. He is El Roi, the Mighty God who sees us – our state, our condition, our situation and circumstances. His plan will prevail! Faith alone must answer His directives.

Not only does He tell us to Break Forth into Singing, but now to Stretch Forth in Faith. Your adversary is more afraid of you than you are afraid of him. That’s why he intimidates, taunts, traumatizes, and seeks to devour you before you come into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Your adversary does not want you to grow into the fullness of who you are in Christ.

Do what Jude said to do, “earnestly contend for the Faith”. Do what James said to do, “Resist him and he’ll flee”. Do what Peter said to do, “Resist him steadfast in the Faith”. The adversary uses fear, deception, and accusations to discredit us. God gives us Faith to overcome him-- Stretch Forth in Faith!

Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams. Your descendants will occupy other nations and resettle the ruined cities.” (Isa. 54:2-3 NLT)
