    Turning Point

    February 21, 2016

    Turning Point

A time when an important change happens; a point at which a significant change occurs.

    Inflection Point

A point on a curve that separates an arc concave upward from one concave downward and vice versa.

    Strategic Inflection Point

The time of transition of company's competitive position that requires the company change the current path and adapt to the new situation or risk of declining profits.

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.”

    (Mt 16:21)

It is here at Caesarea Philippi that Jesus reaches the turning point of His earthly ministry where He now moves in the direction of why He came – to die for our sins. He is up near the northern-most region of Israel where He tells the Canaanite woman, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (See Mt 15:24)." Determination on your part can move the hand of God on your behalf. She was determined to have her daughter delivered from the demon and did not accept no for an answer. We see it with Jesus’ mother, Mary, at the wedding feast (Jn 2:3-5), blind Bartimaeus along the highway (Mk 10:46-52), the faith of the friends of the man lowered through the roof (Mk 2:3-5)... Determination will not accept no for an answer.

Caesarea Philippi is the place where Jesus asked, "Who do men say that I...am?" The area they were in is a huge mountain that has a cave known as "the gates of hell". It is here that Peter receives revelation from the Father that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. It is here that Jesus gives the revelation of the Church and declares that the "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.

This turning point in Jesus’ ministry was necessary to complete His assignment. We too have to reach that Turning Point in our lives where the focus is “Why we are here!” Everything shifts into high gear to answer and fulfill that statement. It matters not what our occupation is, we have to answer, “for this purpose                                                        , was I called”.
