All You Need is The Seed

    May 22, 2016

The Kingdom of Heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field…” Mt 13:31

The Kingdom of Heaven/God is likened unto the smallest of seeds that has the ability to yield the greatest results. Small things in the Hands of God will accomplish great things. First the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear is how faith is explained (see Mk 4:28).  When the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith” (see Lk 17:4-5), Jesus gave them the analogy of the mustard seed. It has to be planted, and if planted in good soil it will grow and become great.

Not only is the place where you attend important, but the condition and state of your heart is also important.  All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God so it is no surprise to Jesus that He’s dealing with men and women of corrupt, evil hearts. The first order of business is to deal with the heart. He gives us a new heart and He gives us His Spirit: a heart that believes and trusts Him. He gives us His Spirit to empower us to live and be an effective witness for Him. He gives us a heart that loves Him and follows hard after Him.

In the beginning God the Father breathed the breath of life (His Spirit) into man and he became a living soul. He gave them dominion over the earth to fill and subdue it. After Jesus rose from the dead He breathed on the disciples and said “receive ye the Holy Ghost” (see Jn 20:22). He gave them and us today authority to build His Church in the earth. From Jesus to the twelve to the seventy of His day, He began His work. By Pentecost it was 120; after that 3000 were added; after that 5000 were added; and then it spread throughout the world at that time. It all started from The Seed, Jesus. It started small, but then it grew, and grew, and grew. Get growth in your spirit.

Today we are a result of that original Seed, Jesus, because of the faithfulness of those who have gone before us. Jesus said, “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (Jn 12:24).” The Gospel begins small in a person’s life, but like yeast it spreads into every area of that person’s life making them a new creation altogether. Despise not the small beginnings, just keep growing. As you grow, everything around you begins to grow by your influence. All you need is The SeedThe  Seed is in you!

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. I Jn 3:9
