    Faith Is A Good Thing!

    June 10, 2018

“If Thou canst do anything” (Mk. 9:22)

This man was desperate to have his son delivered. He came to bring him to Jesus but only found His disciples. He asked them to deliver his son but they couldn’t. When Jesus arrived the man pleaded with Him to deliver his son.

Deliverance was possible but neither the man nor Jesus’ disciples could set the child free. The reason was because of their faith. Wherever we fall on the spectrum of faith (little faith, great faith, no faith), we have to see the necessity for faith – Faith in God. Faith is a Good Thing! Faith is good because Faith is of God.

Without it we can’t please Him. He gives us the measure of Faith. His Word commands us to Live By Faith. Faith always works for the good of those who exercise it. No one in their right mind believes for bad things to happen to them. Even when bad things happen, Faith rises up to believe this too will work for our good. Faith is the substructure, underlay, and foundation of all that we hope for and the proof, evidence, and conviction of everything we do not see.

Faith comes from God to us and produces Faith in God for us. The man said to Jesus, “if Thou (ei tis-if any) canst (dunamai-to be able or possible) do anything.” Jesus’ response is a question and statement all in one, “If Thou canst (dunamai-to be able or possible)?” “Believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mk 9:23).” The man gets it, “Lord I believe, HELP (relieve) Thou my unbelief (faithlessness).” The problem wasn’t Jesus, the problem was the man and the disciple’s Faith. Rise in Faith today. Be determined to carry out great exploits in the Name of Jesus.

“And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.” (Dt. 32:20)
